Roadside Rescue!!

Good afternoon to you!  I hope you had a restful weekend.  We woke up to some snow on Saturday morning...makes me wonder if will we ever get spring??  I think everyone in Michigan is anxiously awaiting for some warm weather and retire the snow for the season.  I was blessed with another niece on Friday night.  My sister had her baby and they both are doing well....I was lucky enough to meet her on Saturday and she is perfect:)  Those little toes and fingers are just the best:)

I was also lucky enough to visit a few "inspiring" shops in Holly, which is about 1/2 an hour away from where I live.  I went with my other sister and my mom.  We had a great time thrift shopping, gathering ideas, and laughing:)  It was a great time and was so inspired that I can't wait to start a few more projects of my own.  I can't wait to go back and spend more time in these exquisite stores.

On to the project.....I rescued this desk from the roadside last summer.  It sat for awhile in my garage waiting to be refurbished.

I decided on painting the body of the desk a gray color.  The drawers received a fresh coat of white paint.  After the paint dried I antiqued the desk with "burnt umber" brown paint.  I then put a few layers of wax to protect my work.  Here it is in finished form....

Thanks for reading!
Have a great day!

  6. Hey, it's Debt Free Mommy here. I've just published my first e-book and I'm super excited about it, but I need to get the word out. It's on promotion right now and free for only 3 days. If you're at all interested in a short, week long devotional on clearing fear-based clutter from your life, please follow my link and download it while it's still free (March 19-21). Thanks, Tabitha
