Scrabble Coasters

Happy Monday everyone!  Hope you had a great weekend!!  It was a nice weekend for us.....we enjoyed a Tiger's game down at the stadium, spent an evening swimming with family, and lounged around on Sunday.  I wanted to share a project that my mom and I made one afternoon while we were at the lake.  I saw the idea on pinterest and just fell in love with it....scrabble coasters.  How fun right??  She had the scrabble pieces and I supplied the cork board.  It was a quick and easy project to do.  We grabbed a cup of coffee (a must when you're crafting, right?) and gathered the scrabble pieces, cork board, exacto knife, E6000 glue, and blue IKEA stain....

Then we figured out how big we wanted to make the coasters and what word we wanted to stand out.  We decided to make it five letters across and four letters down.  My mom had a blue stain so we used that on the letters to create a word...for example..."dwell."  We used E6000 glue, which works great, to place the scrabble pieces onto the cork board.  After the glue dried, we took an exacto knife and cut as close as we could around the letters.

Here are the finished products....They look create especially adorned with a coffee cup!!!  What do you think??

Have a great day!!!
