It's Tuesday! How are you? Things are well on this end....
I am in love with signs...They can add a fun and whimsical look to any room. I attempted to create a few of my own. I found these boards at a garage sale for a couple of cents each.
I decided to make a "Laundry" sign and a phrase from one of my fave songs, "You are my sunshine." For the laundry sign I primed it with Kilz, then painted it with a bright yellow, cut out the letters with my cricut machine using contact paper, placed the letters onto the sign and then painted the entire board with white paint. I then removed the letters and then let the sign dry. Lastly, I rubbed stain around the edges to give it a more aged look. Here she is....
For the next sign I primed it and painted it in the same yellow. After it dried I created a stencil using my cricut machine for the phrase. I stenciled it in gray paint and then took my palm sander and roughed up the entire board. Lastly, I rubbed a coat of stain on it to give it more dimension. Here she is....
I had so much fun making these! I have a couple more boards left so I'm off to pinterest to gather a few more inspiring quotes or powerful words.
I hope you have a great day!! Thanks for reading!!!

DeleteThat was a pretty great find for a few cents! They turned out perfect, nice work! Some words that could be fun: Hope, Imagine, Bloom (to encourage the garden, lol). Thanks for linking up!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!! I will keep those words in mind for future use!!
DeleteAdorable! Are the letters on the Laundry sign cut out of yellow contact paper? I have to try that!
ReplyDeleteThe board was painted yellow and then I placed the contact paper letters down and painted white over them. I took the contact paper letters off and it left perfect letters in yellow.
