Need a Vase?

T.G.I.F!!! It seems that this week has been a long one. Usually I don't feel like I say this but I think because of the weather it seemed to crawl along. I should probably prepare myself for a long winter though. This is just the beginning. I guess I am just saying that I am glad it's Friday!!

I found this old lamp base down at the flea market we went to this Fall and I didn't want to paint it because I just love the old rusty finish on it. Some might have watched me walking around with it in my cart and wonder why I would want such a piece. They might have also been wondering where the rest of the lamp was but for me that was the charm in the piece. The possibilities for it were endless!! I couldn't wait to take it home and brain storm.

The ending result after a few failed ideas ended up being a vase. I thought that it would look adorable amongst all my other junk...I mean treasures...that I have picked up along the way. It is such a versatile vase as well and can change with the seasons....of course the flowers I put in it are not Fall flowers but they go well in my living room. So there you have it an old oil lamp base transformed into a beautiful vase for flowers. Another thought would be to collect a bunch of these bases to decorate tables for a wedding or even just for a Thanksgiving table. The possibilities are endless!  I hope you all like it! Have a great weekend!!

This is the beautiful lamp base that I found...can't you just see the possibilities? :)

  8. I'm here from flaunt it friday 180. Yes, just jumping all around blogs on a rainy day,
I thought the lamp in the first picture was interesting, especially the scroll-like base, but the pics with the flowers made it so beautiful and adorable. So creative. Glad you could give it such a good home. Love it.
