Good Morning everyone. Well October has come and we are having some muggy weather here in Michigan. I guess I am ready for some crisp fall weather. The leaves are changing in color and starting to fall and the kids are all settled in at school and I have a fun project to tell you about. I had found these candlesticks at a garage sale for $1 and found these old baking pans for practically nothing. My candlesticks could come apart and I thought it would be fun to combine the old baking pans and the candlesticks. Here is the before picture:
I unscrewed the candlesticks and sprayed them with a hammered silver spray paint. I wanted the base to kinda of match the baking pans. I didn't want the bases to be black. I than asked my husband to drill holes into the middle of each pan and I left the patina of the pans just like they were. I liked the oldness of them. I purchased some o rings from the hardware store and glued them on the base first and than added a pan. I added the "o" rings for some stability. The drilled hole was just big enough to slide down the base of the candlestick. Than I glued the pan to the o ring. I added another part of the candlestick and another o ring. I did all my gluing with E6000. I just love that glue and its does it's job!
I did 3 different size baking pans and the second one I did, I just did 2 different baking pans.
I thought I was finished making my stacked pans but I decided I needed some sort of handle in the middle of the top pan so I added.
So I added a glass door knob to the center of the 3 stacked pans.
And to the 2 stacked baking pans I added a crystal. They just needed a little bit of bling.
So, what do you think? I think they are a fun way to display or hold items and it saves on space. I could see them on a table at a party holding lots of goodies or on a dresser holding lots of precious gems. Until next time, Dianne....................
