A Little More Burlap

Good evening, fellow bloggers.  It's Thursday and I have been busy doing some sewing since it is so very cold in snowy Michigan.  I have been wanting to update the cushions on  my kitchen chairs but wasn't quite sure how I wanted to do them.  My kitchen has soft orange walls with cream cupboards and trim.  I had a stripe material that held up well, but I wanted a change. Here is the before picture:
As you can see I had a stripe material on them but wanted a more rustic farm feeling  to the cushion.  I had found some burlap bags at a flea market in Ohio in the spring that I really liked. The colors were just right for my kitchen, but they weren't big enough to make the whole cushion.  So I cut out the design and centered it some more burlap bags and sewed it on.  I had used the previous pattern to make the new cushion.  I used some vintage material on the back side of the cushion and used the same material for the ties.  I was pleased with the final results.
So, what do you think?  I think they look more rustic and f army looking.   Better or worse?   Until next time, Dianne.......

  2. Nice job. I love the rustic look and it's a great way to make something too small work for what you need.
