Vintage Kitchen Decor

Half way there is what I always think when Wednesday comes along. Although, I feel like so many projects have to be accomplished these days that it could go a little bit slower. I am sure that everyone reading this probably feels the same way. There is just never enough time in the day! It's a gloomy day in Michigan but I am going to share with you a bright and cheery project that I have recently completed.

I got these trivets from a garage sale this summer and immediately I thought that they would look so neat adorning the walls of my kitchen. I wanted them to be a bright color that would look nice with red walls. That brought me to the color yellow. When I sprayed them they looked a little too bright and perfect so I needed to bring back that old, vintage look. I took some white paint and wiped it on and then sanded the top just a bit to bring out some of the black underneath. I was happy with how they turned out and can't wait to get them up on my walls! Have a fabulous rest of your week!

  9. Wow, those are neat looking trivets, I've never seen any like that. May I ask where about in Michigan? I'm near GR.
