Good Morning everyone. We had some more snow in Michigan yesterday which totaled up to be 4-5". I'm getting so tired of moving snow around. We used to have winters like this when I was a child and it was so much fun when we missed school because of the snow. Now when I'm an adult it getting a little monotonous. Our snow banks are getting so high that we don't know where to push the snow. So much for global warming! It has been a pretty winter though. Well on to my project which I had fun with and something for the month of February, Valentines Day.....
I started out with a gold frame that I really liked. I loved all the scrolls and frills. It was a gold and I decided to paint the frame a pink and than wipe off the paint which left some of the paint in all the grooves. One needs a little pink for the day or the month.
I needed a back to the frame so I found a stiff board that I could glue right into the frame and I covered that board with burlap. I needed a little shabbiness to tone down the frilliness of the frame and I like the burlap look. I than went thru all my buttons, some new and some vintage and picked up some fun ones. I started gluing them on once I had drawn my heart onto the burlap.
I had fun with this project and I think it looks like Valentine's Day has arrived.
I started out gluing my buttons on with the deep red ones on the bottom of the heart and lightened the color of the buttons when I started going up the heart and ended with white color buttons at the top of the heart.
So here's my heart, sitting on a little cupboard with some butterflies that we will soon see in the upcoming Spring.
So, what do you think? Something for Valentine' Day or not? Until next time, Dianne.............
